Yesterday I hit my 12 week mark. Yay! Love it when I get past the first three months! I've been starting to feel a bit better lately, but am still really tired. My carpal tunnel seems to be getting worse though...mostly in my left wrist. My hands fall asleep everytime I do--it's so annoying! But overall I'm feeling a bit more normal. I'm able to do a lot more than just a month ago. I still get really worn out though when I exercise, so I kind of just walk and swim now. Feels a bit lame, but it's better than nothing.
The smells of certain foods, while cooking, really bother me. I smelled grilled onions the other day and about barfed.
My littlest one is the size of a lime now. I told Sam what a lime was and she asked if the baby was green...ya know...like a lime. Kids are funny.

Zoo Trip
I'm so tired this evening! It's been a busy busy day. I took the kids to the Oakland Zoo this morning. The zoo has lots of hills, so I was totally worn out, but the kids sure had lots of fun. I'll get pics up soon. When we got home we went over to the gym and went swimming. No nap for me + full and active day = super tired momma! I'm going to bed in a few minutes.
I'm 11 weeks pregnant today and the baby is the size of a fig. That's about 1 1/2 inches long. It's fun to think that the little one is already kicking and stretching and squirming.

Big Break Hike
I took the girls for a little hike this morning. It's a half mile to the water and half mile back. They had so much fun!

Sam collected rocks along the path so that she and Alison could throw them into the water once we got to the observation deck.

Sam loves maps. She stood here for several minutes "reading" the map.

The girls loved throwing the rocks and then watching the circles form in the water.

Samantha, Alison, and Momma. I've been starting to feel a lot better lately. I still get really tired and dizzy sometimes, but overall, I feel like I'm getting over the worst of it.....hopefully.

Alison loves to push the stroller around.

View of Mt. Diablo from the trail.

Samantha enjoyed pushing the stroller back to the car. She loves doing big girl stuff!

First Ultrasound
I'm 10 weeks pregnant now so I got to have an in-office ultrasound today. It makes the pregnancy feel so much more real and finally validates feeling so crappy. Samantha and Jason came to see the ultrasound too. Sam was in awe of it all...and kind of confused. She thought she'd be able to see something that would look more like a baby. She really liked the sound of the heartbeat though.

More Prayers About Nephi
Samantha prayed over dinner tonight and said, "Bless Nephi that he can write lots and lots and lots of words and scriptures for us to read and bless Nephi that he can go on adventures." And then after the prayer she asked if he was the one who climbed a mountain, made tools, and built a boat. I said yes, and she said, "Oh good. That was a good adventure."
It was a beautiful day today! I met up with a couple of friends at the park. We sat in the sun and the kids had a great time digging for dinosour bones in the sand and playing on the play equipment. When we got home, shook the sand out of our clothes and brushed it out of our hair, I put Ali down for a nap then Sam and I snuggled in the recliner watching Pinocchio. I dozed through most of it though. Such a nice day. I even got a really light sunburn. After cold and rainy weather, the warmth of the sun felt so good.

Samantha's Prayer
This has nothing to do with my pregnancy, but I want to share it anyway. During Samantha's personal prayer tonight (which she always wants me there for), she said, "Bless Nephi that he can write more scriptures...for all of California." So cute! So funny! That was my favorite quote, but she also said something like..."I love Jesus all the amens in the world." And "Bless the gospel." I love her prayers. They are so simple and so sweet.
I've been feeling pretty decent this past week, but SO TIRED! Sometimes during the day I can barely keep my eyes open, so in the evening when I usually write, I'm way too tired and just go to bed instead. And most days are very non-functioning for me. I do only the necessary stuff, but not much else. I'm glad Sam is done with preschool so I get a little break from driving her to and fro. She'll be home more, but she's actually quite helpful. We're going to tell her about the new baby this week and I bet she'll be even more helpful once she understands why mommy is so tired all the time.

My Little Grape
I'm 9 weeks pregnant today, which means 217 more days to go...give or take a few. Next week is my sonigram appt.
This morning I was really wanting some of those delicious black grapes from Costco. They just sounded so yummy! So of course, I had to laugh when I received my weekly email from Babycenter telling me that my baby is approximately the size of a grape. Okay, so now I'm craving grapes a little less. Maybe I'll get a Jamba Juice today...that sounds yummy.

Housecleaning
Housecleaning is a drag. I don't understand when people like cleaning--I so don't! Between being totally exhausted, feeling icky, and not liking to clean...my house is a mess. I did some dishes, washed a ton of clothes (they're not folded...just sitting on my couch), kinda sorta cleaned up the bathroom, tidied the living room, and still when I walk around my house all I can see is my gross kitchen floor and other messes like that. I don't remember the last time I mopped the kitchen floor. Probably because I can't remember much of anything lately and because it's been at least two weeks--gross.
My toes aren't going numb anymore, but my hands do everytime I fall asleep. It's so annoying!

Alison's Burn
I was cooking some Cup 'o Noodles this afternoon and when I walked out of the kitchen, Alison came in and pulled it down off the counter and onto herself. It was boiling water!!! It poured all over her arm and splashed onto her cheek and neck, but luckily she was wearing a long-sleeve shirt which prevented it from being worse than it is. When I heard her scream I ran into the kitchen, saw what happened, picked her up, sat her on the counter, pulled her shirt off, grabbed the nearest dish towel, ran cold water on it, and then wrapped it around her arm. I continued doing that, re-rinsing the towel to cool it down and wrapping her arm several times till her arm cooled down and redness started to go away. Her cheek and neck are fine since it was just a little. The funny thing was that when she finally stopped screaming and crying, she was still so upset about the spilled noodles.

Emotional Wreck
It's a hard pregnancy day today. I'm an emotional wreck! I feel like I'm falling apart. I was crying this morning and Samantha knelt infront of me, put her hands on my knees and asked what was wrong. She was so concerned. She got me a few tissues--one to use and one to put in my pocket for later. After I dropped her off at school, I went to the gym and had a good workout, so that is helping a little.

Salty Goodness
When I don't write for a day or so, it usually means I've felt awful and way too tired to think of anything clever to write. Yesterday at church I was in charge of sharing time in primary. Yeah, I'll admit, it was kind of lame. But I felt too yucky to do much more. The kids still seemed to enjoy it--they're easy to please.
So anyone who knows me, knows that I love chocolate and sweet yummy stuff, but lately, I'd rather have potato chips or salty crackers. That's so not like me...normally. The sides of my lips keep splitting. I'm still blacking out in the shower. I feel nauseous, but I don't throw up. My lower back aches a lot, especially when I try to sleep. Speaking of sleep, I'm soooo tired all the time! Yup, still pregnant. :)
