15 Weeks

I'm 15 weeks pregnant now. According to babycenter.com, my baby is about four inches long from crown to rump and weighs about 2 1/2 ounces. They are comparring it's size to that of an apple. It says that although the eyelids are still fused shut, the baby can sense light, and if I were to shine a light at my tummy, the baby would move away from it. Sounds kind of cute, but also a smidge taunting. I think I won't do it.

I read the funniest thing. A question you may have about kegels:
Why am I exercising my vagina when it's the only part of my body I actually want to get bigger?
Haha!!

So I've been cramping a little lately. Mostly it's just little ones everytime I stand up or cough or sneeze or blow my nose or laugh....ok so it's pretty often. But they're also happening sometimes when I'm doing nothing. I'll just be lying there in bed and start cramping. It's just minor, but still has me a bit worried.

I'm adding a few pictures from the day. It was Alison's first time eating cereal with milk. Oooo, so yummy!

The Skinners Come See The Animals

Our good friends the Skinners came over to see our new additions. They're good with chicks because their grandparents have chickens.

The Dearman Farm

It was a very busy and very full day today. I woke up early, made blueberry mini muffins with Sam, the girls devoured the muffins, then we went outside and did yardwork. The girls played and ran around while Jason and I prepped the garden beds. Sam's job is getting all the rocks out of the beds. Then we went to Lowes to buy some supplies and flowers, then over to the feed store to buy baby chicks, then back home.

Once the chicks were all snug in their new home, we put Alison down for a nap, then had lunch. She was too tired and fussy to eat so she ate when she woke up. While she slept, I got an old rabbit cage from my neighbor. Jason and I washed it, fixed it up, and then painted it. Then Sam and I went to buy two little bunnies. We got a gray one and a black one. Sam immediately claimed the gray one and named it Kayla. I told her the story of how her Aunt Merika named a little black one (that really belonged to her brother and had a tougher name like Dark Knight...or something like that)...anyway, she named it "Bun Bun". She thought that was a great name for Alison's, since her's is the black one. So we have Kayla and Bun Bun. One of the baby chicks is already named but we'll wait and name the rest as they get bigger and get their own look.

The named one is Nora, named after the singer Nora Jones, because it's the most calm and chill one of the bunch, much like Nora's music. She is a Rhode Island Red. I think I'll name one of the Buff Orpington's Blondie, but like I said, we'll wait and see. Sam had a great day today. She asked if we were going to have a farm. I replied "Yes; with chickens and rabbits." Not much of a farm, but it sure is to her. Hmm, I guess once you add the vegetable garden, it's even more like a farm.

This week, for the first time ever, I made a menu for the week. Since it was the first time, I let Sam decide on everything. She has been so excited by it, so I think I'll keep doing it. Monday was French Toast cut into strips which makes it more fun to eat, Tuesday was Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Wednesday was Twisty Macaroni & Cheese, tonight was Pancakes, and tomorrow will be Spaghetti. Since Jason is gone several nights of the week, it's easy to have really kid-friendly meals. Easy and super cheap!

I'm writing about Thursday the 15th of April, but it's now seven minutes past midnight, so the date will read April 16th. After getting the rabbits, I had to go to the bank to clear up an ATM mishap, then to the petstore to buy a water bottle and rabbit food. When I got home the girls had eaten and were in the tub. I washed their hair, got them out, and got them ready for bed. After playing with Kayla and then bedtime stories, the girls went to bed, and I was pooped! I really need a nap everyday, but not only did I not nap, I never really stopped all day. I read for a while in bed, but was asleep by about 9:45. Then woke up around 11:30 p.m. feeling absolutely sick! Yucky! Hopefully it will pass soon and I can go back to sleep. I'm tired! Tomorrow I will post pictures of our new additions: Nora and her friends, and Kayla & Bun Bun.

P.S. Please ignore the fact that Jason and I are wearing the same shirt. It was just a coincidence. And don't pay any attention to the fact that I look awful in that picture! No shower, work'n in the yard, hair a mess, no make-up. Seriously!
I've always had a fear of holding chicks. Guess it's time to move past that!

Jason really likes these chicks.

Sam loves to pet them!

She sat there, just watching them, for a long time. Loved it!

This one is Nora. She's a Rhode Island Red.
The girls loved watching the bunnies hop around. Samantha's is the gray one (Kayla) and Alison's is the black one (Bun Bun).

Jason just sat there watching TV with this little chick sitting on his shoulder.

Alison liked being close to the bunnies and petting them, but has no interest in holding them.

Sam, on the other hand, loves her little Kayla!

Super Yucky

I have not felt well today...like super yucky! I started the day feeling fine, but just got worse and worse as the day progressed. Ugg. I'm just so grateful my kids were so good today. They played pretty well together and when I was really feeling crummy, Sam was such a good helper. I sure love my girls. Hmmm, I wonder if by the end of the year I'll still be saying, "my girls" or if I'll be saying, "my kids".

Lame Updater

Okay, so I've been pretty lame about updating my blog lately, but my friend said it well today....I'm just too tired! Seriously, I'm so tired! So when I sit here in my big, comfy recliner with my laptop on my lap, I rather quickly fall asleep. So here's the update, in no particular order: 1) I am outragiously tired all the time, 2) I have to pee ALL THE TIME, 3) My face is like a zit factory, 4) I'm hungry and eating all the time, 5) But I weigh 3 pounds lighter than I did before I got pregnant, 6) I get crampy sometimes, 7) I'm still having slow motion contractions every once in a while, 8) I'm 14 weeks pregnant now and apparently my baby is about the size of a lemon, 9) ummm, that's about it. I was trying to think of ten updates, but I can't....that's it for me!

Skin

Last week my skin was SOOOOO dry! So dry it hurt! And now this week I'm all zits! I can't believe how much I'm breaking out. It's awful! I don't think I broke out this badly as a teenager. Ugg, the joys of pregnancy.

Slow Motion Contractions

The weirdest thing has been happening for the last couple of days. I don't think it's a bad thing, but it's never happened so early in any of my pregnancies so far. It's like I'm having contractions, but they happen really slowly. My lower abdominal area starts to tighten and tense up. It progresses for about 2 or 3 full minutes till I'm hard as a rock, then begins to relax. The relaxing occurs quicker, but still takes about 45 seconds. After about 20 minutes, it happens again. This will go on for about an hour or two, then won't happen again till sometime 10-24 hours later. It's weird, huh?

Samantha's Book of Mormon

Samantha has been asking for her own scriptures lately, so I bought this for her and it arrived today. She was so excited!

And a CTR ring too! She loved it!

I also got her a big picture of the Oakland Temple and a small picture of Jesus holding some children to hang on the wall in her room.
