Happy Birthday Barbie!

At Christmas time my mom gave Samantha a Barbie calendar.  On it marked March 9th as Barbie's birthday.  So, of course, Sam has been looking forward to it with so much excitement.  She wanted to have a birthday party for Barbie, so I told her she could have a friend over to play Barbies and I'd make them cupcakes or something like that.

But then my girls got sick--the flu and strep throat.  I had to cancel the "party" and Sam was so sad.  So I told her she could still play Barbies all day and have her own little party.  She didn't know that I also had a few little things up my sleeve.

First thing in the morning Sam dragged out all the Barbies and started playing with them.  She chose this one to be the official birthday girl and even made a hat for her.

Alison wasn't feeling very well, but still wanted to play.
Sam made a little birthday sign.

For lunch I set up a little surprise "party" for the girls.
They LOVED it!
They were so excited for their Barbie tattoos.

Happy Birthday Samantha!

Jason had to leave for work today at noon and wouldn't be home till 10:30, so we decided to have a mini birthday party breakfast to start off the day.
Samantha LOVED it!
We had a little donut cake and sang happy birthday.

Samantha LOVED her new owl hat and Wii game!

I strung some pink and white balloons up to liven up the room.
Was doing this at midnight the night before--so tired!
She wore her cool new owl hat to school.
She told me later that it was so warm and cozy.
After school we went to Carl's Jr. for lunch and playing with some of her besties, Jared and Madie.
And now she's TOTALLY engrossed in her new Wii game.
And Alison is watching.
We love you so much Sammy!  You are such a joy!

Jake's 1st Birthday

A few months ago, Samantha told me that Jake really wanted a Robot birthday party.  Funny...since he can't talk, but she was absolutely sure of it.
So, that's what we did....and it turned out so cute!
Here are some of the robot snacks and decorations.
They turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself.
 Goodie Bags!
 Robbie the Robot!
We had so much fun with this little Robot photo booth.

"I'd love to stay and chat, but I really moustache."
This is all that Alison really wanted to eat.  Cheetos!
 Cake!  Fire!  Awesome!
"Um yeah...I'm digg'n this whole cake thing."
"Don't be look'n at me like that!  You'd be grubb'n too.
 It's so good!"
"Love'n it Mom!!!"
"Gotta get every bit off the plate!  Give me more!!"
I tried to make it like a green/blue marble effect.
Samantha and Alison gave him some Wheelies cars
and made cute robot cards for him.
He was very excited about his birthday present!
 Can you tell?
"Come on Dad!  Hurry up and put it together."
Me and my handsome little man.
I just love this guy so very much!
 Aunt Jamie and Jakey.
 Playing with his new toy.
Robot Jakey!
 Heck yeah!
My SIL Jamie and MIL Karen.
"It's my party and I'll cry if I want to!"
Okay, he was a little tired.
 I couldn't help it....just had to.
Okay, I'm a dork.
