Second Day of Life

Aunt Jamie brought the girls on Thursday morning to see their new little brother.
My Samantha sure is growing up!
She's such a good big sister!
Sam is handing Jacob a present.  It's just a few baby toys that belonged to the girls.  But they picked them out of their toys especially for Jacob.
Alison thinks he's so cute!  She says it all the time!  I love the sweet look she has right here.
 Family of five!
Kaiser provides a nice celebration meal.

Jen, one of my bestest friends, came to visit us in the hospital.
She's a rock'n photographer and came for a new newborn photo shoot.  Thanks girl!  I owe ya!
(I'll post her pics soon.)
Cindy came to visit us!
(Miss you since you moved out of the ward!)
Mommy & Jacob
He's so alert!

Getting ready to go home.
His outfit says, "Daddy's Happy, I'm a Boy."
So ready to go home.
During my whole pregnancy, the girls called him "The Brother Boy".
He brought a few gifts home for his big sisters!

They couldn't get enough of him.
Alison kept saying, "He's so cute!"

Spent the evening just cuddling with our new little guy.

He's Here!!

My handsome little baby, Jacob Burton Dearman, arrived at 4:32 p.m. weighing in at 9 lbs 10 oz and measuring 21 inches long.

Amazingly, I only had to push for 2 minutes to get him out! That is a huge difference from the hour and half it took to get Sam out and the two hours it took to get Alison out. Two minutes!! I love it!

He's such a beautiful baby boy!  Welcome to the world little guy!  I love you!

Here are a bunch of pictures from the day:

Holding Jacob for the first time!
This is NOT my favorite picture of myself, but I still like the photo.

 Check out these details!
 Grandma Stout
Grandpa Stout came to the hospital after he got off work.
Our good friends, the Fowlers, came to visit.  Here's Geoff holding little Jake.
One of my bestest friends, Rosie, couldn't get enough of holding Jake.
Rosie....I love ya girl....but this picture makes me laugh because you look so uncomfortable!
She later told me that she didn't want to squish me.

Prenatal Doctor Appt....and Then Some!!

Yesterday I had an ultrasound to check the size of this little baby, so this morning I went to a doctor appt to get the results. Dr. Nan walked in and said, "Well, the baby's BIG!" He went on to tell me that although at this point in time ultrasounds aren't very precise and could be off by about a half pound either way, my baby is measuring at 10 1/2 pounds! Yikes! So he said, "Just incase he's actually bigger than the ultrasound, we don't want him to get any bigger, so let's go have this baby." I was like, "What? Right now?" Ummm, okay, let's go. So we walked over to the hospital part of the building so I could get checked it. But I had to make a bunch of calls first since Jason was at home with Alison, Sam was at school, and I had the car with the carseats. I had to make a bunch of arrangements so that Jason could get the van, which was hard because he couldn't take Alison with him since he didn't have the carseat.

So then I went to admitting and got all checked in.

They put me in a room and got an IV put in.
Once Jason had the van, picked up Sam from school, and had the kids at a friend's house, he came to the hospital to be with me. As it turned out, it was a long, boring day.

Look at these cute little socks my mom bought for the baby!

I love the plan here! Epidural THEN delivery.

My mom and I watched Glee together.

My good friend Mandy came to keep me company!  Thanks!
Oh yeah, one more thought.  My doctor said to me this morning, "You have a great pelvis."  Ha!  That totally made me laugh!  I told him I was going to blog it, which then totally made him laugh.

39 Weeks

1 week left!!! ....well technically, but you never really know.

I had an ultrasound today to figure out how big this baby is. The doctor should be able to tell me at my appointment tomorrow morning, then they'll decide what to do. Induce or just let me go whenever it happens?

Looking at his Face:

I can barely reach my feet these days, so my super sweet husband painted my nails for me! I love you Jason!

Sam picked the color. She said we should do blue....for the BOY!!

Lydia is having her twins on Thursday! Her second set...another boy & girl!

Fudge

Um yeah...the baby was really wanting chocolate tonight, because at 9:45 p.m. I'm in the kitchen making fudge.
I'm having a bunch of contractions this evening, but the unusual thing about them is that they're LONG! They're painful, but not too bad, and quite unfortable.....and last for about 7 to 10 full minutes! Seriously...that's too long! Do other people have long contractions? I didn't in my previous pregnancies.

Swelling. Yeah, I'm over it. My poor ankles....where have you gone? By like 9:00 or 10:00 in the morning, my Birkenstocks are too snug and tight. And then it just gets worse throughout the day. Ugh!

I'm 39 weeks tomorrow and they're doing an ultrasound to see just how big this baby is. Any guesses?

"Homework"

Almost everyday Samantha asks to do homework. She's only been given homework once in her Kindergarten class, but she loves it! So I have to be ready and on my toes with little worksheets or creative assignments. Today I quickly printed up some Fall themed worksheets from the First School website.

Alison likes to do almost anything that Sam is doing, so of course, she sat down and got right to work also.

Pretty good for a 2 year old!!

Yummy Food

Had a super yummy lunch today! I made my grandma's funeral potato recipe--totally hit the spot! For the recipe, click HERE.

And then for a mid-conference snack, Rice Krispy Treats!

All that happy, yummy food stuff being said, I hate that my kids are so difficult at the table! They liked the food and still put up the biggest fuss and fight over having to sit there and eat. I used to love mealtimes--not so much anymore. It just frustrates me soooo much!
