Smoothies for the Girls
I love when I can get my picky girls to consume a cup full of yummy, healthy goodness. Today's smoothie was milk, yogurt, a banana, 2 cups of frozen peaches, and about 5 or 6 fresh strawberries. All blended together and yum!

Funny Phrase with a Twist
You know that phrase, "I'm gonna kick the crap outta you!" Well, lately I feel like my little boy is saying something like that to me: "I'M GONNA KICK THE PEE OUTTA YOU!" Seriously, I can hardly handle it! He is so active--almost never stops. Is this a sign of things to come? Is he going to be a super crazy active little boy?

Berry Banana Smoothie
I love fruit smoothies and have them all the time, especially when I'm pregnant! During the summer I bought a lot of fruit at the farmer's market. Anything that couldn't get eaten right away, got frozen. For today's smoothie I pulled out frozen blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries. I also had some fresh strawberries and bananas from my trip to the store this morning. Mix all this together with a little milk and yogurt, and it's so good! Today's mixture was a little seedy, but jam packed with healthy stuff!

M&M Cookies
My Corn Crop
I didn't get nearly as much gardening and outside stuff done this past summer. It wasn't necessarily the pregnancy that hindered my efforts, but my hip pain and pulled groin muscle (caused by the pregnancy) that did it. I had wanted to plant a big corn crop, but that didn't happen. So instead, I planted a couple of short rows about a week ago. It's not really the best time of year for it, but who cares. At this point, it's more for fun. Sam will be really excited to watch it grow. Plus, it should be ready right around Thanksgiving. If we get enough, maybe Sam can take some in to show everyone in her class at school.

This is our Rhode Island Red, Dora.

She looks fierce here. Grrrr. Oh wait, chickens don't say "grrrr".

Here are the Buff Orphingtons. Honey is in the back and Sunny up front.

We got two eggs today! One from Dora and the other from either Honey or Sunny. I've got to catch her in the act to figure out which one.

Is it Nesting?
I feel a new stress to clean the house lately. Is it nesting or am I just suddenly worried about the fact that when I go into labor and have this baby, someone (mom, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, friends from church, etc) will be coming into my house, and for some of them, maybe even sleeping over to take care of the girls while I'm in the hospital? I think maybe it's a little of both. I want things clean and organized for my own sake and to prepare for the baby coming, but I also don't want anyone else dealing with my mess. Okay, it's not that bad...just the normal daily clutter: toys, dishes, laundry, etc. But suddenly it's bugging me more than usual.
Table Status
It occurred to me just recently that I have reached "table status". When I sit down, I can totally use my big belly as a table. It's quite useful. I can set my dinner plate on there, the remote control, a child's toy, my cereal bowl, etc! But on the flipside, I'm losing my lap. If I'm not slightly reclined, I can't use my laptop. There's just not enough room for it.

8 Pounds!! Already?
I had a prenatal appointment this morning and found out that I'm dialated to 3 centimeters. Taking into account my recent ultrasound, and my physical measurements today, the doctor thinks that the baby is approximately 8 pounds right now. It's just her guess, but yikes! That's big considering I still have 4 weeks left!
At my next appointment in 2 weeks they'll strip my membranes and hope I go into labor shortly after that. They said they're not going to let me go over my due date though, so as we get closer to the due date, if I haven't gone into labor, they'll schedule an induction.
