Pacifica Beach

I love the beach!
Seriously, love it!
We had a great day at Pacifica.
The kids loved it!!!

Am I getting the point across?
I LOVE THE BEACH!!

Alison spent most of the day digging in the sand--
happy as a clam!
Samantha immediately ran into the water!
She could hardly contain her excitement!!
And then got knocked over by a wave and came back with her clothes dripping wet.
Alison said, "I made a sandcastle!"
Ha!  So funny!
"Dude, take'n on the jellies!  You got serious thrill issues."
There were jellyfish all over the beach.
Luckily, they were dead and not dangerous anymore.
Sam just ran in and out of the water all day.
Oh wait....I forgot....
she came in for about 5 minutes and dug a hole in the sand.
Jake always loves being outside!
A little father-son moment.
Love my little guy!
Run, run, run!
Splash, splash, splash!
I taught Sam to dig up sandcrabs.  She thought they were so cool, but Alison was so freaked out.
Jake was so intrigued by the feel of the sand in between his toes.
The whole day was magical for Alison.
I think she was smiling non-stop.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PICTURE OF JAKE!
Jake was tired, but happy.

We made the mistake of letting Sam stay in the water too long.  Jason finally went out and got her and she was dangerously cold.  She couldn't open and close her hands and couldn't stop shivering.  I took her to the warm car, got her out of her wet clothes, wrapped her in two big towels, and it still took a while before she was warmed up.  Then as we drove away, she ate and ate and ate.  She had an appetite like I've never seen from her before.
Funny thing though, she said to me, "Mom, next time, can you bring a swimsuit for me."  I had to remind her, "Sam, I did.  You just didn't put it on."
Like a good mom, I made sure to put sunscreen on my kids.  Like a typical mom, I forgot myself.  This seriously hurts!

Crazy Hair Day

I know my Sam and I know that she would have been super bugged by funky braids or crazy spikes, but streaks of color.....
SHE LOVED IT!!!

Sam is good friends with this little girl Aimee.
 Angela, Aimee, Belinda, and Samantha
(Angela & Belinda are in First Grade, Aimee & Sam are in Kindergarten.)

Ice Cream Party

Sam had an end of the year Ice Cream Party for her whole class.  Only a few friends came, but they all brought siblings and parents, so they still had lots of fun!  Here's a picture of a few of the kids.

Mackenzie, Samantha, and Angela

Alison REALLY liked putting sprinkles on her ice cream cone!

My Boys are Sick

So if last month wasn't enough, now both Jason and Jacob have colds.  My poor boys!  It's Jason's first week of the summer term, he's teaching 12-hour days, and now has almost completely lost his voice.  Poor guy!  And Jake is just stuffy, boogery, and miserable.   It's hard to nurse and nap when you can't breathe through your nose, so he's grumpy.

It's also Samantha's last week of Kindergarten.  It's a crazy week!  Let me spell it out for ya:

Monday:  Backwards Day (all school), Water Day (kinder), had to bring a bottle of Glycerin to her class.
Tuesday:  Nerd Day (all school), Bowling Field Trip (kinder), different pick-up time
Wednesday:  Crazy Hair Day (all school), Field Day (lower grades), Teddy Bear Picnic (kinder), send Sam with a blanket and her bear.  After school hosting an Ice Cream party for her whole class.
Thursday:  Free Dress Day (all school), Class Party, I'm bringing 3 or 4 dz cookies & juice, and an Awards Celebration that I have to be there for at 10:20.

Teacher Thank You Gift

It's made with a package of Rolo's, yellow and pink construction paper, aluminum foil, and a Hershey Kiss.
Samantha is also going to write a little thank you note.
I figure I'll pick up a gift card to somewhere like Jamba Juice too.

I found this idea on Sugar Doodle's facebook page.  She found the idea on Simply J Studio.
