Go Wonder Pets, Yay!
Alison LOVES the Wonder Pets!
Here she is singing their song.
She has come into our room in the middle of the night many times saying things like, "Mom, can I watch Wonder Pets?" and "Mom, will you read me Wonder Pets?"
That reminds me....Sam came into our room at 2:00 a.m. once and said, "Mom, I can't find my slinky." I'm thinking to myself, "Why are you looking for your slinky???? It's 2:00 a.m.!!!!!"
Good Night, Baby!
This is Alison's favorite book and we MUST read it every night.
Now she has it memorized!

Our Chicken Died Today
From the beginning, this one was Jason's favorite.
He named her Nora because she was really calm and chill, just like the music of Nora Jones.
We found her last night lying on the ground, lethargic and in obvious distress. We didn't know what to do, so Jason carried her into the coop and put her into one of the laying boxes. In the morning, I took her out and put her in a wire cage so I could take care of her. After a lot of research, we believe she was egg bound. We think that maybe her egg broke inside of her. Jason found her with egg substance on her rear and on the ground by her, but no evidence of the shell. Not knowing for sure what happened, I treated her as though an egg was stuck. I made her a warm bed in a separate cage, gave her cool water to drink, and a pan of hot, steaming water sat right below her vent to help loosen the muscles and get the egg out. I took care of her throughout the morning, checking on her periodically, but when I left to go pick up Sam from school, I noticed that she wasn't breathing anymore.
Our sweet little Nora had died.
Baby Nora
Although it was short, she had a good life.
Here is a picture of Nora when she laid her first egg.
